What’s leading to the rise in use?
An increase in multi-sensors is partly responsible, with more of these types of detector being installed there comes a need to test them efficiently – without the need for multiple tools. As an all-in-one tool, Testifire delivers this and ultimately provides a faster way of working – in many ways it’s a no brainer – less disruption on site, less equipment to carry and less time changing between tools all leads to greater productivity!
With more multi-sensors installed, comes greater focus on how these types of detector are tested. For example, BS:5839-1 and NFPA 72 now calls for each sensor to be physically tested individually:
Where the detector or system design permits, each sensor on which a fire detection decision depends (E.g. smoke, heat, CO) should be physically tested individually. BS:5839-1:2017
Test each of the detection principles present within the detector (e.g., smoke/heat/CO, etc.) independently for the specific detection principle, regardless of the configuration status at the time of testing. NFPA 72

Of course, it’s not just multi-sensors that are leading to a rise in use of Testifire.
