Mus joins us having recently graduated from UCL.
So Mus, can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m a fresh graduate who has recently joined the sales and marketing team here at Detectortesters. Prior to working here, I studied a Masters of Science Degree at UCL, specialising in Public Policy and Economics. In my free time I play quite a lot of football and also like to try activities that my friends and I have never done before. I also like to consider myself a foodie, which I think just means that I like to eat!
How did you get into your current role?
Throughout my studies and from working part-time in various companies, I realised that I wanted to be involved in the world of sales. I came across Detectortesters and liked how niche, yet essential, the industry and company itself is, and I really wanted to be a part of it.
Can you give us an idea of what you get up to at Detectortesters day-to-day?
Throughout my day, I am in contact with new and existing customers. I look after sales quote requests we receive via our website and via the phone and help users find the right solution for their needs.
I am also doing more on the research side, looking at the types of visitors we attract to our website and building campaigns to match their specific needs. Part of this insight helps identify trends within the industry and shows how and where our products are being used.
What’s the biggest thing that has surprised you working here?
As this is my first full-time job, I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect from an office environment – but very quickly I was met with a positive and welcoming group of colleagues and I already feel part of the team!
On the product side, one thing that has really surprised me is the world-wide appeal of our solutions. I am told we sell to over 130 countries and looking at where some of the quote requests we receive come from, I really get to see how this is true!
