DT team members elected to FIA Board and Council

The recent Fire Industry Association (FIA) AGM confirmed members of the FIA Board and Councils, among the appointments were Detectortesters CEO – Robert Campbell and Business Development Manager – Simon Flavell.

Having initially been elected to the board in 2020, Robert’s re-election provides the opportunity to continue his work supporting the core projects and objectives within the FIA.

Commenting on his re-election, Robert said:

The FIA is a fantastic trade association, the insight and support it offers to its members and the wider industry is something very special, I’m honoured to have been re-elected and look forward to continuing the great work the FIA carries out over the next two years.

As well as Robert’s re-election, the AGM also saw Detectortesters BDM, Simon Flavell elected to the Fire Detection & Alarm Council.

Despite having only recently joined the team at Detectortesters, Simon has over 30 years of fire industry experience from his time working in several technical sales roles at Apollo Fire Detectors.

During this time Simon has developed specialist fire knowledge of several vertical markets and worked with customers both in the UK and Internationally.

Speaking of his appointment, Simon said:

As fire detection systems and the solutions continue to evolve, I am confident my knowledge and desire will be a real asset to the FD & A Council and I am looking forward to playing an active role with the group.

With the appointments, Robert and Simon join other DT team members currently serving on various FIA Councils and Working Groups including:

Oliver Doerle – Member of the Services Council, Chair of Testing, Measuring & Validation Working Group and Chair of the Installer & Maintainer Section

Alex Brown – Member of the Export Council

Paul Gatens – Member of Smoke Alarm Devices Working Group & ASD Task Group

Allen Stuart – Member of Working Group 3
