Business Update – Brexit & COVID-19

Whilst we have all approached 2021 with positivity, Brexit and the on-going uncertainty over COVID-19 means there are still a number of challenges to overcome.  With this in mind, please read on for an update on how these issues are currently effecting us.

BREXIT

Since the new trade agreement between the EU and UK was confirmed on 30^th December 2020, our internal Brexit team have been continuing to work through the details of the agreement and understand the full extent of what it means for our operations.

Through our previous updates, you will know that we have been planning for this time since 2017.  Whilst our team have planned and covered for as many situations as possible, there were always going to be aspects outside of our control and things that were unknown until the time any agreement was reached.

There are many elements of the supply chain and, coupled with the worldwide impact of the current pandemic, we are now seeing some significant issues relating to shipping routes.  These issues are regardless of whether we use our own carrier or a customer nominated carrier.

Further information

We continue to work closely with our shipping partners, as we did in the build up to Brexit, but we are still experiencing some delays.  Where we are aware of an issue related to shipment delays, we are updating affected customers with the latest information.  Please be assured that our internal sales team is working extremely hard to overcome these issues and, even when they do not have immediate answers, are committed to keeping you informed.

COVID-19

As during the previous lockdowns, we remain fully operational and able to offer stock of our complete product range.  Our site has been COVID-secure for many months – meeting all the requirements and following all the guidance offered by the UK Government.

Our operations team remain on site, working safely to meet the demand from our global customer base and playing our part in ensuring essential fire maintenance work can continue.

The rest of our team remain working from home with full access to all the required resources and systems.  You can still reach us on via the usual emails and phone numbers – although a smaller team is currently handling calls, so please be patient or use email as the primary method of contact.
